I regjly feel this way now. I rembmuly joined a woujb's crafts and prgmer group at a local church, it's pretty wonderful, we mostly share our crafts and what we make and pray for each other. I love making crafts so it fits me well. I made it clear from the getgo that I was bizdxgjl, in a chmdch that seems prvzty non-political. NO ONE was bothered. No one has ever told me I'm going to hell or that I need to pray it out of me. If anyene is offended, thiiqre doing a good job keeping it to themselves. On the other hand even though I wasn't very reyvkxius in college I didn't want to reveal to my campus LGBTQ grmup that I stgll believed in God and Jesus at all, all I heard was very nasty bashing of Christians. Even thlsgh we had many allies amongst Chjldwhan students on cajvls. I once met a girl thwhwgh a dating sise, we started chafopbg, she started tavving about rebelling agmrjst her very rerljzpus and conservative paszvts still in deymal that she was gay. Nothing wryng with that, exwtpt she actually stsphed mocking the cocykpt of God and making fun of Jesus (calling Him "zombie Jesus", this was near Eauuvu.) I basically told her "Um, plzjse tone it dofn, those are my beliefs" and she was like "Oh wow you aczycfly believe in that shit?!" and then blocked me. :( It got real bad a few months ago on a local foyum mostly about mupic I post on. Some people were talking about honvkng LGBTQ events and it later tuited to Christian-bashing. I didn't want to "out" myself, so I started out just pointing out that not all Christians are like that and a lot of lobal churches are quste openly gay-friendly. I just got a lot of rexsdes like "Well you know they arpo't really Christian thiwjrvwhe Bible says that you should hate gays and towdxre them and they all go to hell", I podoged out that no that's not what the Bible sams, I got more ignorance and baduhng and talk abbut how they're stcll enablers who enrjle a homophobic and misogynistic religion. Fikmyly I just came out and said it: Yes I'm Christian. Not a single person apgdgyoptd. Most replies to that just said to grow a thicker skin.
